Why produce in China?

We have carefully chosen the production site in China, for many good reasons: Our products are produced in a small factory, which has several years experience in the production of environmental friendly materials. The factory is regularly checked by the strict and independent Swiss Institute IMO to control social standards, market ecology and environmental management procedures.

Child labour does not exist in our factory. Our employees are rewarded with a higher than average salary and feel committed. No cut is too difficult, no task too tricky for our producer. Our factory is supplied regionally with the materials we need for our products. Our hemp fibres come from West China, as well as our recycled polyester and all other accessories. This way we create extremely short distances and are able to handle our processes very fast within our production. This saves us many resources, as in comparison to many scattered European production processes that work less efficient.

Short distances save energy

All our materials, from our PET bottles up to our final product, are acquired from one region. Developing a high quality product that is sustainable and fair at an affordable price is hardly manageable in another place. Why not use the knowledge and expertise China has and work in an environmentally and social responsible way.

Engagement in all directions

Not only the products we produce are made under responsible conditions but also our office falls under the eco spotlight. All our packaging and marketing material is made from recycled paper, our electricity is covered by renewable sources and whenever possible we use our bikes to get around. Our commitment does not stop when we step out of the office. We help nature where we can.

Our contribution to save the rainforest

We have decided to use part of our profits to actively protect the rain forests. In cooperation with Treems we will be buying trees at regular intervals, contributing to preserving the rain forests in Ecuador and Brazil. This way we are able to bind a lot of CO2 and at the same time offer the animal world and plants with rare species a secure home. We also strive to be included in the Fair Wear Foundation, to be able to ensure future outstanding working conditions and high social standards.
